CDNlink Router v.2.0

Posted by Erwin on August 28, 2015

The following is my design of router v.2.0 for CDNlink created on MatLab 2015a and Simulink with SimEvent toolbox. I have made big changes from the previous version. But the most changes are, I put some new updates such as:

  • Load balancing algorithm selection
  • Synchronization module with another router (for SoR functionality)
  • Load catcher from nearest surrogate server

I make some small updates such as added some new attributes to the packet (y_out, router_id, hop_count) to improve the packet analysis. I’m not sure this one is needed but for my research it is.

Some other updates are still on going. Especially in the routing table code. Now I’m working on the selection of the router functionality. In this case. The functionality is as a regular router or as an SoR.

As for your intention, this router design is an integration part from a big system that called as CDNlink.

CDNlink with WIDE topology for CDN Load Balancing Simulation

In current time, I use a WIDE Topology. More information about WIDE can be found in its formal website http://www.wide.ad.jp/.

The simulation is running well under the following platform: Win7 64bit, i7 proc, and 16Gb ram.
